What's the difference between Sativa and Indica?

This is one of the most if not the most asked question about cannabis.

Visually, Indica plants have broad leafs, while Sativa plants have narrow leafs.

Psycho-actively, Sativa effects are very up and energizing with more of a creative head high while Indica produces more of a sedative body high.  That’s the simple basic difference most people are looking for.  They forget which is which.  Sativa up (sat up) Indica down (I down). Now you’ll never forget.

A popular conclusion among seasoned growers today is that the difference matters little because most commercially available strains are what are called hybrids. This means they’re a mix or a blend of the two at some ratio, sometimes you’ll see this ratio advertised.  And even strains that claim to be 100% of either are not always genuine and often hybrids in reality.

However, this assumptive explanation implies that pure strains are no longer available, which is not true by any means, in fact we specialize in pure Indica and pure Sativa strains and particularly, landrace strains. These are the original building blocks for all other strains. The next level up would be what are commonly called “Heirloom Strains” these are first generation hybrids, bread from pure landrace parents. Look at strains from The Landrace Team. We offer their bred from landrace heirlooms crosses.

But at the end of the day does it really matter.  Yes, and no, but not really.  Because every strain has a slightly different affect on different people, which adds another wild card to a situation that already has a few wild card’s.  So, don’t turn away a strain because it says Indica when you think you want Sativa or vice versa.  It’s very possible that an Indica could hit you in a Sativa way and vice versa. It happens to me all the time.  You just have to try every strain there is.  It’s a daunting task but it’s worth it and so much fun.  We’re here to help.
